CBSE Announces Timetable for July Supplementary Exams
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has released the timetable for the 2025 supplementary examinations for Class 10 and 12 students. These exams provide a second chance for students who did not pass certain subjects in the main boards or for those wishing to improve their scores. The Class 10 exams will be conducted from July 15 to July 22, while all Class 12 supplementary exams will be held on a single day, July 15.
Unpacked:
Students who did not pass certain subjects (placed in the 'compartment' category) or wish to improve their scores in the 2025 Class 10 or 12 board exams are eligible. Both regular and private candidates can apply, but regular students must apply through their schools, and private students must apply online via the CBSE website.
Regular students must have their schools submit their names via the Pariksha Sangam portal. Private students register directly through the CBSE website. The registration window opened May 30 and closes June 17 for private students, and June 15 to June 30 for regular students. Only candidates registered via these processes can appear for the exams.
Yes. Class 12 students can register for improvement in only one subject, while Class 10 students can improve scores in up to two subjects. Students with compartment status can apply for the corresponding subject(s).
The supplementary exams will be based on the same syllabus as the main board examinations for the 2024–25 academic session. Detailed datesheets, updates, and guidelines are available on the official CBSE website (cbse.gov.in).
